Iran launches largest hydrocracker unit in West Asia/A successful environmental model
Pars Today - The largest hydrocracker unit in West Asia, with a daily capacity of 42,000 barrels, has been launched at the Abadan Oil Refinery in Iran.
Hydrocracker units are one of the most important refining units in oil refineries. Their task is to convert heavy cuts into lighter and more valuable cuts. According to Pars Today, the largest hydrocracker unit in West Asia was launched with the order of Iran's Acting President Mohammad Mokhber and in the presence of the country's Oil Minister Javad Owji.
With the launch of the largest hydrocracker unit at the Abadan Refinery, high-quality products compliant with global environmental standards will be produced in southwestern Iran. Additionally, once operational, the quality of diesel fuel produced at this refinery will meet the Euro 5 standard.
The launch of this unit will reduce the production of 42,000 barrels of fuel oil at the Abadan Refinery and convert it into high-value products such as liquefied gas, heavy and light sweet crude oil, jet fuel, and Euro 5 diesel fuel, adding value and diversity to the refinery's product basket.
This massive project is naturally accompanied by special environmental sensitivities; therefore, the largest sulfur recovery and solidification units with a daily capacity of 630 tons, the tallest refinery flare stacks at 125 and 127 meters, and the most complete safety equipment have been used.
