  • Araghchi: Atrocities in Gaza must stop

Pars Today – Iran’s foreign minister emphasized the legal and moral responsibility of all countries to denounce and oppose the crimes in Gaza and to send humanitarian aid to the besieged enclave during a meeting with Vatican officials on Friday.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, who has traveled to Rome and attended the fifth round of indirect Iran-US talks, also met and conferred with the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin. He described the situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territories as catastrophic due to escalating massacres and ongoing genocide. Araghchi pointed to occupation, apartheid, and grave violations of Palestinians’ fundamental rights—including the right to self-determination—as the root causes of insecurity and problems in West Asia. He also outlined Iran’s positions on its right to peaceful use of nuclear energy. (IRNA)
