Imam Khamenei: Islamic Revolution surprised Western world
Pars Today - The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said: “The Islamic Revolution surprised the Western world; they did not imagine that a lone cleric, without equipment and financial resources, could mobilize a nation.”
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei delivered a live televised speech on the occasion of the 36th anniversary ceremony of the passing away of Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him), held at the mausoleum of the late founder of the Islamic Republic in southern Tehran on Wednesday morning with the presence of officials, government executives, military and civilian figures, and a large gathering of mourners.
The Leader said “Our revolutionary leader is a great man whose presence in the world is still palpable more than thirty years after his demise, and one clearly observes the impact of his revolution in the world. The severe decline of US’s standing in the world is influenced by his presence, and the hatred of Zionism is influenced by his revolution.”
Imam Khamenei added “National independence means that the country should not wait for the green or red light from the United States and its ilk; a key element of national independence is the principle of 'we can'." /IRNA
