Pars Today – Remarks by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution at a meeting with members of the organizing committee of the Congress commemorating Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hadi Milani, held at the venue of the conference in the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza, have been published.

According to the information portal of the Office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, while expressing appreciation for the holding of such a congress, described the late Ayatollah Milani as a well-rounded figure in terms of spirituality, ethics, scholarship, and social and political engagement. He emphasized that Ayatollah Milani was truly a reviver of the Mashhad seminary, and that this seminary is indebted to him.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described Ayatollah Milani, on a personal level, as an outstanding individual possessing dignity and composure, along with humility, loyalty to friends, delicacy of spirit, and a taste for poetry. He added that, from a scholarly perspective, the late Ayatollah was a great religious scholar who benefited from teachers such as the late Mirza Naeini and the late Sheikh Mohammad Hossein Esfahani, was eloquent in teaching and scholarly debate, and trained accomplished seminarians.

Ayatollah Khamenei cited another aspect of Ayatollah Milani’s personality as his spiritual wayfaring, and, referring to his presence at the heart of the social and political events of the time, stated: During the early stages of the struggles in the early 1960s, Ayatollah Milani was truly one of the pillars of the Islamic movement and was actively present in the midst of events. His trip to Tehran, together with a group of other scholars following the arrest of Imam Khomeini (may God rest his soul), is an example of his influential presence in political affairs.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described Ayatollah Milani’s strong, dignified, and firm statements in support of the Islamic movement as another example of his effective role in political matters, and said: His letter supporting Imam Khomeini (God bless his soul) after the Imam’s exile to Turkey is a historical document.

Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that Ayatollah Milani maintained relations with activists and various individuals from different political currents, yet consistently and strongly avoided being associated with any specific political faction.

He expressed hope that holding this congress would pave the way for introducing the various dimensions of Ayatollah Milani’s personality to the public.

The congress commemorating the 50th anniversary of the passing of Ayatollah Mohammad-Hadi Milani began on Thursday in the Quds Hall of the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza, featuring remarks by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution about this distinguished scholar.
