Pars Today – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament stated that Zionists, through a strategy of sowing discord and instability, seek to weaken and fragment Islamic countries in order to dominate the region.
On Sunday, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf made the remarks during a meeting with Fouad Hussein, Iraq’s foreign minister, in Tehran. Referring to the policies of the Zionist regime in the region, he said the regime’s main goal is to prevent regional countries from being independent and strong. To achieve this, it exploits divisions and insecurity to undermine the unity and capabilities of nations.
The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament added that the Zionists, with the support of the United States and some European countries, attempted to weaken Iran’s defensive capabilities through military attacks. However, thanks to the vigilance of the Iranian people and the strength of the armed forces, not only did they fail, but Iran’s missile capability has become a key deterrent strength.
Qalibaf, referring to recent terrorist incidents in Iran, emphasized that the enemies believed they could create urban insecurity and, with open U.S. support for the rioters, pave the way for internal weakening followed by an external attack. However, with the public separating themselves from the terrorists and rapid action by security forces, this scenario was thwarted in a short period of time.
Qalibaf emphasized that the experiences of Syria, Iraq, Sudan, and Somalia show that the strategy of global Zionism is to divide and weaken the Islamic Ummah, and that any concession to this regime would harm the entire Muslim world.
He also congratulated Iraq on successfully holding its parliamentary elections, describing them as an important step toward political stability in Baghdad, and stressed the expansion of bilateral relations, particularly in economic and infrastructure sectors.
Iraq’s Foreign Minister, referring to the deep link between Iran’s and Iraq’s security, stated that the stability of both countries is an integral part of regional security. He added that Baghdad will work to explain the realities of recent developments in Iran and the imposed terrorist war to the public and international bodies.
