Iran's President Hassan Rouhani underlined strengthened ties with Germany
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani underlined strengthened ties with Germany and his country's willingness to cooperate with Berlin in resolving the regional problems and fighting terrorism.
Rouhani made the remarks in a message to his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier on the occasion of Germany's national day on Tuesday.
"Given the age-old good relations between Iran and Germany, I hope to witness further development and consolidation of ties and cooperation in all arenas and increased consultations between the two countries' high-ranking officials," he wrote in his message.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany to resolve the regional crises through political and peaceful means and serious fight against terrorism and extremism," President Rouhani added.
In relevant remarks in May, German Deputy Foreign Minister Markus Ederer in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Majid Takht Ravanchi in Tehran called for the expansion of all-out relations, especially in economic and trade fields.
