Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi repeated his country's position that it has fully lost trust in Washington after the latter’s violation of the internationally-endorsed 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the P5+1 group of countries.

"I can clearly declare that the wall of mistrust between us has grown taller and confidence in the country has decreased much, specially after the nuclear deal and considering the US defiance of its undertakings and extensive disloyalties," Qassemi said on Tuesday.

He said that now even the international community has felt the US untrustworthiness, adding that given Washington's increased hostile approach towards Iran, there is no place for talks with the country.

"This thought that negotiations and talks with the US can resolve certain problems in Iran is not correct," Qassemi said, adding that Iran is a powerful country which can solve many problems itself while it also believes in talks and interactions with other countries.

In relevant remarks in October, EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini warned Washington that its possible decertification of the nuclear deal would lead to other countries' distrust of the US.
