Yemeni army hits Saudi airport in retaliatory drone attack
The Yemeni army says it has launched a massive drone attack against Abha International Airport in southern Saudi Arabia.
According to Press TV, Yemen’s Army Spokeman General Yahya Saree said the army's drones on Sunday struck military positions and sensitive targets at Abha Airport with high precision.
According to Yemen's Al Masirah TV, the attacks were launched in response to the Saudi-led coalition's increased airstrikes against the Yemeni nation and the continued siege on the country, the army spokesman said.
The attack came one week after a similar drone attack on the same airport, which Riyadh claims was intercepted.
The UN refers to the situation in Yemen as the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with more than half of hospitals and clinics destroyed or closed.
