Yemen’s Ansarullah movement says any solution to end the conflict in the country must guarantee the end of the Saudi aggression and its siege of the impoverished country.

Writing on his Facebook account, Ansarullah Spokesman Mohammad Abdulsalam said on Thursday we will reject any peace plans that fail to stop Saudi aggression, its air and naval blockade, and remove economic restrictions.

Abdulsalam made the comments after meeting with UN Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed in the capital Sana’a.

The spokesman said any solution to end the crisis should be agreed by all the involved parties.

Abdulsalam’s remarks come as a fresh round of UN-sponsored peace talks between warring sides is set to kick off in Kuwait on Friday.

The peace talks on Yemen began in Kuwait on April 21 with the aim of putting an end to more than a year of conflict in the Arab country.

The talks coincided with a UN-mediated ceasefire, which still holds across Yemen, although the Ansarullah has reported numerous airstrikes by Saudi Arabia targeting civilians.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26, 2015 in a bid to reinstate Hadi, a staunch ally of Riyadh, and defeat the Ansarullah movement.

More than 9,400 people have been martyred and at least 16,000 others injured since the onset of the aggression.
