Syria: Army starts new operations to secure Aleppo's strategic road

Field sources reported that the Syrian army has started a new phase of operations in Aleppo to establish security on Ithriya-Aleppo international road.

The sources said that after regaining control over Eastern Aleppo, the army troops intend to link the entire areas on the coasts of the Euphrates road to Ithriya-Aleppo road which is the main passageway of Aleppo and the Northern parts of the country, to block the terrorists' threat to the province.

According to reports, the army has started the operation Westward after advancing in Eastern Aleppo and capturing the villages of al-Ramthan, al-Saliheh, Barqawi and Jarabat in the Southern parts of Lake Assad.

Military experts believe that the Syrian soldiers will reach the international road soon.

The sources also said, given the fact that the Daesh lines have shattered in the region after the Syrian army's rapid advances from the international road towards the East and liberation of the villages of al-Atshaneh, Shariat and Rasm al-Askar, the operation does not seem to be difficult for the army.
