Pars Today – Russia’s Permanent Representative to the international organizations in Vienna stated that there is no need to remove Iran’s enriched uranium from the country.

According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the international organizations in Vienna, wrote on his X social media account that there is no necessity to transfer enriched uranium out of Iran.

Ulyanov added that Tehran’s consent would be required for any such move. He noted that, theoretically, if both sides agree, there is also the option of diluting the enriched uranium within Iran itself. Therefore, he said, speculation on the matter is premature.

His remarks come after Ebrahim Azizi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Iran’s Parliament, previously wrote on his social media page that the Islamic Republic of Iran would not retreat from its red lines, including the right to enrich uranium, possession of enriched uranium, management of the Strait of Hormuz, and the lifting of sanctions. He stated that it is clear that Donald Trump uses threats one day and appeals for an agreement the next in an effort to escape a strategic deadlock.

Azizi also told RIA Novosti that there is absolutely no plan to transfer Iran’s enriched uranium. He said: “I do not know where these questions regarding our uranium originate. We have no intention of transferring our uranium to a third country, a mediator, or any other destination.”
