The incidents that have taken place in recent years have shown that violence, and radicalism maintains no boundaries. Hence, the efforts to uproot terrorism in the global scene should be coupled with an unflinching determination and transparency. Meanwhile, have the measures taken by the West and/or alliances such as the Saudi-led Coalition been transparent in the campaign against terrorism?

The inefficiency of the military leverage in Afghan, Iraq, and Syria wars has shown that war is not necessarily the only option in the campaign against terrorism, such that the US has failed to reach its sinister goals to this day.

Maybe for this reason, the US has been forced to turn military action against terrorism into a regional and global coalition. Meanwhile, the claims of the West about their so-called war on terror are unfounded and baseless. This is because the US and the West have contributed to formation of terrorist outfits such as Al-Qaeda and Daesh, and have fully supported terrorist groups to maintain their illegitimate interests.

In the Western world; that claims to campaign against terrorism; violence and radicalism are continuously escalating. The West continuously and wrongly points the finger of blame toward Muslims in regard to radicalism, while terrorism has nothing to do with Muslims and/or any particular religion.

Two years ago, after the terrorist incident in the Charlie Hebdo Weekly in France, the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in a letter addressed to Western youths, paid an in-depth look to the root causes and factors leading to the phenomena of terrorism and radicalism, while presenting a number of questions; whose study is of paramount importance in realization of the realities.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution, in this letter which addressed Western youths, referred to the contradictions and roots of these currents. One of these contradictions is West’s determination to turn a blind eye to the horrific crimes committed by the usurper Israeli regime. The Zionist regime, and the US, in a calculated move, support and promote radicalism; undermine Islamic countries; and are intent on guiding the crises in a way which would leave the highest impact on the Islamic resistance front in the region. So, one should not expect the US to genuinely campaign against terrorism.

The US-led Western regimes cannot maintain a motive for actual campaign against terrorism for three main reasons. The first reason is Western regimes’ efforts to take advantage of crises stirred by terrorist outfits, in the region, to somehow justify their meddlesome regional policies. These meddlesome policies have been highly extensive, such that they have been intent to somehow topple the legal and legitimate ruling systems in regional countries. A prime example of these meddlesome policies is the incidents in Syria, under the pretext of support for reformations and political demands of so-called opposition groups in Syria.

The second reason is the absence of an indomitable resolve on the part of the West in campaign against terrorism, and the separatist goals which the meddling powers pursue in the region. For a number of years, the US officials have been intent on disintegration of Middle East, pursuing this ominous goal within the framework of the so-called Great Middle East plan. Hence, provocation of crises by separatist groups raises the best opportunity for advancement of this sinister aim.

Meanwhile, the third reason which proves West’s lack of motive for campaigning against terrorism is the US unwavering support for the usurper Israeli regime and the regional goals of the illegal Zionist entity. Hence, the US doesn’t take any measure that would be to the detriment of the Zionist regime of Israel.

The ultimate goal of the US; in its collaboration with the Saudi regime and Takfiri terrorists is to topple the pivot of resistance in Syria and Lebanon. In fact, what is important for the US within the framework of anti-terrorism coalition is to maintain the security of the Zionist regime and to weaken the resistance in Syria, Lebanon, and Palestine. This destructive current is reinforced by Takfiri terrorist outfits as a means to destroy the Islamic Ummah.

The American author and analyst, Ben Reynolds, strongly believes that terrorist outfits such as Daesh have been continuously supported by West’s meddlesome policies in West Asia, and upon the infiltration of regional actors, such as the Saudi regime. He notes that Daesh terrorist outfit has taken shape by the West and its allies.

The Saudi regime has invested billions of dollars, worldwide, for promotion of Wahhabi ideology; while these investments have led to formation of Takfiri groups in West Asia.

Moreover, the Saudi regime and Daesh terrorist outfit, both allege that the Islamic resistance in West Asia generates concerns and should be fought against. Meanwhile, this commonalty between the Saudi regime and Daesh terrorist outfit has led both of them to adopt the same stand.

If the West and the US maintained an indomitable resolve to campaign against terrorist, they should have prevented the terrorist and racist measures of the illegal Zionist entity, many years ago.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution, in part of his letter, which addressed Western youths, noted that there are two major differences between the insecurity and anxiety which was experienced throughout the incidents in France, and the sufferings of the people of Iraq, Yemen, Syria, and Afghanistan for a number of years. The first difference is that the World of Islam has fallen victim to bouts of violence and scaremongering campaigns, for a much longer phase, and to a much larger extent.

The second difference is that these bouts of violence have always been supported by some of the world powers, such as the reinforcement and armament of Al-Qaeda, and Taliban by the US. However, in the Western world, it has been wrongly alleged that these terrorist measures in the region and the West originate from the divine religion of Islam.

The fact of the matter is that West’s mottos in the campaign against terrorism have faded away and have faced evident contradictions. International organizations such as the UN practically serve the West and support terrorist regimes, such as the Saudi and Zionist regimes. Upon neglecting the roots of terrorism, these organizations have promoted bouts of violence. Undoubtedly, terrorism, and sufferings of any human being in any part of the world as the result of violence and radicalism, is unfortunate; whether in France, or any other region. However, one cannot wipe out terrorism via adoption of double standards.

Countless evidences prove that terrorist currents, such as Al-Qaeda, and Daesh, have been formed by the US and its regional allies, which maintain separatist plots across the region. In the aftermath of 9/11, the approach of the West and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has been to spread terrorism, war, and radicalism, instead of campaigning against terrorism.
