Araghchi: Iranian people will not accept a halt to uranium enrichment

Pars Today – Iran’s foreign minister has emphasized that halting uranium enrichment is not an option the Iranian people would accept.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, speaking on Saturday during a ceremony renewing allegiance to the ideals of the late Founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him), stated: “One of the principles that guides us in nuclear negotiations is the rejection of domination.”

Araghchi noted that Imam Khomeini (God's mercy upon him), as the architect of the Islamic Revolution, also laid the foundation for the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic. He added “From Imam Khomeini’s viewpoint, the core of foreign policy is based on rejecting foreign domination.”

Reaffirming that access to peaceful nuclear energy is Iran’s legitimate right, he stated, “Our position on the nuclear issue is absolutely clear.” / IRNA
