Clashes erupt between US protesters and Los Angeles police

Pars Today – Following the continuation of President Donald Trump's administration’s attacks on immigrants in California, hundreds of protesters clashed with police in Los Angeles.

Demonstrators gathered in front of the federal building in downtown Los Angeles, demanding an immediate halt to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) raids on workplaces in the US’s second-largest city.

Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd and arrested dozens of individuals, but protesters refused to leave the streets and continued to clash with officers.

On Sunday, US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 California National Guard troops to Los Angeles. (IRIB news agency)
