Pars Today – The Israeli security cabinet has approved prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to occupy the Gaza Strip.

According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, in a 10-hour session held Thursday night, Netanyahu said the operation is not irreversible and that if Hamas agrees to Israel’s conditions, negotiations for a ceasefire could take place. Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israel’s minister of internal security, called for the continuation of the war even if a possible agreement is reached.

Meanwhile, Eyal Zamir, chief of staff of the Israeli army, warned about the consequences of displacing around one million Gaza residents, stating there is no guarantee that Israeli captives held in Gaza will remain unharmed.

The Israeli news agency “Ma’an” reported that the disagreement between Netanyahu and Zamir continued, escalating into a verbal clash between some ministers and the chief of staff.
