Iran claims title of 2022 Greco-Roman World Cup

Iran defeated the Republic of Azerbaijan to win the title of the 2022 Greco-Roman World Cup on Sunday.
According to Tasnim news agency, Iran and Azerbaijan were neck-to-neck with both winning five bouts, but the classification points gave Iran the win.
Azerbaijan came second for the second time in a row.
Iran's National Team (Team Melli) had defeated Kyrgyzstan (8-2) and Turkey (6-4) en route to the final.
Serbia, who was drawn in Group A, missed the tournament after a number of COVID-19 infections in the team.
The Iranian team took part in the competition in Baku, Azerbaijan with a mix of young and experienced wrestlers.
