IRGC Ground Force test-fires new homegrown Sadid-365 top attack anti-tank missile

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has successfully test-launched a new homegrown top attack anti-tank missile, amid a drive to develop state-of-the-art military equipment.

Head of the Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization of the IRGC Ground Force General Ali Kouhestani said on Saturday that the notable military achievement, dubbed Sadid-365 (Solemn-365), is a guided anti-tank missile with a range of 8 kilometers, that is capable of destroying various armored vehicles.

He noted that the domestically- designed and -manufactured optically guided missile enjoys high pinpoint accuracy, is designed to strike designated targets from above as a form of plunging fire, and can even penetrate through the active protection system (APS) of tanks and destroy them.

The Iranian general added the IRGC experts are going to optimize the missile in the next phase and equip it with foldable wingtips and a new fire control system.

He highlighted that the IRGC Ground Force’s personnel carriers will be furnished with four Sadid-365 missiles, two installed on each side of their turrets.

Back on July 7, 2021, the IRGC Ground Force took delivery of the ground-launched version of Almas (Diamond) anti-tank missile.

The homegrown missile is reportedly a top attack weapon that can hit targets within a range of 8 kilometers.

The IRGC had already developed the air-launched version of Almas missile fired by Ababil-III drones.
