Pars Today — The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks genuine, result-oriented negotiations, but achieving this goal requires mutual seriousness, determination, and the removal of distrust toward the U.S. side’s behavior.

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, speaking at the ceremony welcoming foreign ambassadors resident in Iran on the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, emphasized the course of Iran-U.S. talks. He stated that Iran is serious in indirect negotiations with the United States and seeks real dialogue to reach tangible results, provided that the other side also approaches the talks with a result-oriented mindset.

Araghchi, noting that “the wall of distrust toward the United States stems from the behavior of its officials,” added that whenever the Iranian people have been addressed with coercion, they have resisted, and whenever approached with respect and dignity, they have responded reciprocally.

The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed hope that the necessary trust for advancing negotiations can be established, saying: “It is hoped that the talks will move toward a result, and that diplomacy will prevail over tension and conflict.”

Araghchi also emphasized Iran’s foreign policy, stating that it is based on close cooperation with neighboring countries and joint efforts to maintain regional peace and stability while preventing the escalation of tensions.

Iran’s Forein Minister, reviewing developments over the past year, added that the Iranian nation has experienced a series of events—from the twelve-day war to developments in New York, European countries’ appeals to the UN Security Council, the January 8–10 unrest guided by foreign actors, and the U.S. military posture in the region—each of which would have been significant for any country over an entire year.

Referring to the twelve-day war, the Foreign Minister said that at the beginning of the conflict, some demanded Iran’s unconditional surrender, but by the twelfth day, an unconditional ceasefire was proposed. What was clear throughout these developments was the resilience of the Iranian people, which once again steered all parties toward diplomacy.

Araghchi emphasized that there is no way to resolve Iran’s nuclear issue other than through diplomacy, a reality that has been repeatedly proven.

The Iranian Foreign Minister, in separate telephone calls with the foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, referred to the indirect Iran-U.S. talks in Muscat as a “good start”, while simultaneously emphasizing the need to address the distrust regarding the intentions and objectives of the U.S. side.

According to the report, the foreign ministers of the regional countries welcomed the launch of the Muscat talks and stressed the importance of continuing dialogue to achieve a diplomatic solution and prevent the escalation of tensions.
