Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili has underlined his country's willingness to further expand relations and cooperation with Iran in all arenas.

"Your visit and negotiations are highly important to us and we are ready for the development of cooperation in all fields," Kvirikashvili said in a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in Tbilisi on Tuesday.

He also underscored the necessity for normalization of all banking mechanisms between the two countries, and called for the enhancement of economic ties.

Zarif, for his part, pointed to the different areas existing for cooperation between the two countries, and said, "We are ready for cooperation in the banking, agriculture, water, construction, technology and tourism sectors."

Earlier today, Zarif stressed the need for using all capacities and potentials to further bolster ties and cooperation between Tehran and Tbilisi.

"Fortunately, there are abundant potentials in the two countries which have not been used so much and we should use these potentials," Zarif said in a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze in Tbilisi.

Noting that he has studied different fields of cooperation between the two countries during a meeting with his Georgian counterpart, he said, "These fields include transit, industry, production, training and cooperation in the international organizations and regional issues."

The Iranian foreign minister underscored that reciprocal visits by Iranian and Georgian officials can help further develop bilateral relations, adding that Kvirikashvili will visit Tehran at the end of this week.
