Iranian Government Spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht
Iranian Government Spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht underlined that Tehran would stop complying with the 2015 nuclear deal if it fails to meet its interests as per the deal.
"If our national interests are not met, we will not remain in the nuclear deal even for a single moment; this is not a personal position but it is the position of the establishment," Nobakht told reporters at a press conference in Tehran on Tuesday.
He dismissed the US conditions for remaining committed to the nuclear deal, and said that "the deal was struck after months of talks" and it cannot be renegotiated or changed.
"Our decision on the nuclear deal is clear," Nobakht reiterated.
In relevant remarks on Saturday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif strongly rejected the US president's demand for recertifying the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, reiterating that Trump's terms are "improper" and "unacceptable".
