Envoy: Russia to reinvigorate Syria's defense system

Russian Ambassador to Tehran Levan Jagarian blasted the recent US missile attack on al-Shayrat airbase, and said Moscow has decided to further strengthen Syria's air defense system.

"The US attack was a clear violation of the international laws because it was not coordinated with the legal government in Syria and was not authorized by the UN Security Council. Being carried out under any pretexts, we condemn and criticize it," Jagarian said on Sunday.

"Russia has decided to strengthen Syria's air defense capability," he stressed.

Elsewhere, Jagarian voiced suspicion over the chemical attack conducted in Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib Province, and said, "I imagine that it was a false flag operation by the terrorists to create a pretext for the US invasion."
