Lebanon hails Iran's support in war against terrorists

Lebanese Defense Minister Yacoub Sarraf lauded Iran for its ongoing support for his country in the war against the terrorist groups.

"We appreciate Iran for its role in helping the Lebanese government and nation to confront the terrorists," Sarraf said in a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali in the Lebanese capital on Wednesday.

Fathali, for his part, underlined support for the Lebanese nation, army and resistance, and said, "Iran will continue its support for the Lebanese nation and government."

The two sides also discussed ways to develop cooperation between the two countries.

Lebanon has been suffering from terrorist attacks by Al-Qaeda-linked and Daesh terrorists in the past few years after the crisis in Syria erupted.
