UK Parliament has reconvened amid Brexit turmoil

The MPs have gathered in the UK Parliament following the Supreme Court's ruling it was not lawfully suspended.

According to Press TV, with lawmakers set to return to Parliament, Johnson has been forced to return to the UK from New York  and to face lawmakers for the first time after his historic and humiliating defeat in the Supreme Court.

Johnson landed in New York this week, bringing his vision of a post-Brexit "Global Britain" to the United Nations. But after judges unanimously ruled his advice to the Queen to prorogue parliament was unlawful, he avoided mentioning Brexit as he delivered a rambling speech about the challenges of technology in his inaugural UN speech.

The session on Wednesday was convened by House of Commons Speaker John Bercow, who had earlier called Johnson's unilateral suspension a "constitutional outrage."

Later, Geoffrey Cox, the Attorney General, began proceedings by defending suspension of Parliament (which was done on the legal advice of a certain G. Cox).

“This is a dead parliament”, Cox rants at MPs as Johnson's government refused to apologize for breaking the law.
